I'm biking this today
Everyday at work I stare at a trail running up Lucky Peak of the Ridge to Rivers trail system. Today after work I am going to bike up it with a couple other guys from Micron. I'm pumped. Check out the panoramic view from Cobb Trail. Cobb also happens to be my mom's maiden name.
Trail number 13 and 8 is what we are doing tonight.

Torrey's Burnt Creek: Brushing the Teeth
In true Perkins' boys fashion, Gideon and Isaac brushing their teeth anywhere but in the bathroom. Here they are on the front steps of the cabin we stayed at in the Sawtooth mountains.
Idaho Goodness
I had wanted to do a more elaborate post on my parents visit over Labor Day weekend, but this will have to do.
We rented a cabin in the Sawtooth mountains and had a great great time. Something about Idaho and the pioneering spirit that still exists out here makes me feel alive. I want to learn the history, the geography of the land, and the stories of the pioneers and their spirit who settled out here. You can walk in the land and feel like you are the first one there. You don't have to tell anybody about it because it's yours alone to experience. I think land-owning Westerners have a better appreciation of what America and its ideals mean because they are tied to the land more so than my "the-bank-really-owns-my-house-and-land" attitude I have. Kind of a ramble just to say that Idaho is sinking deeper and deeper into me. Check out the flickr picutres by clicking on that great head of Phineas'.
