Were you this smart at 17?

This 17 year old kid, along with an online community, hacked the iPhone so it could run on other networks besides AT&T. He recently traded the first hacked iPhone for a "sweet Nissan 350Z". I think this kid is set for life with his smarts. He reminds me of one of my best friends from high school, Chris Coyne, who happens to have started SparkNotes and OkCupid and is pretty well off now.
