Just what does Andy do at Micron

You can now see some of what I do in some fancy pants (kind of) videos put out by Micron for investors. I work in Research&Development (R&D) at Micron, specifically for CMOS imagers. These are the cameras that are in about 80% of cell phones, security devices, and automobiles. We are starting to get into some neat medical imaging, like pills with cameras that you swallow to view your digestive track. Anyways, we are basically trying to make electronics faster, smaller, more reliable, and with less toxic material to the environment. Semiconductors are full of a bunch of incredible science for nerds.

The marketing gurus have decided to call what we do Osmium technology. The videos oversimplify things and hide what we really do, but they give the basic idea.

If you want some more toilet reading literature, then check out the Osmium Technology Booklet

Anyways, I'm loving my job and feel blessed to be in an R&D position where monotony is near zilch and I have the freedom/ability to change the direction of semiconductor technology.

Oh, and in other news, Infineon (along with Micron) settled on a patent litigation case with Tessera . Some of you know I had some interest with this case the past year or so. Now you can read more about it if you want.

I'd STILL like to see a picture of you in your 'special' outfit!

thanks for the update Andy! I love hearing what's going on. I do think I will stick to lighter reading when it comes to the potty though. More Phineas pictures please!

Ya, my potty reading is a little lighter as well, but pictures are always good. Got to go. Tap tap
