Nehemiah Phoenix Perkins
So, Facebook has been winning me over to updating more regularly with short pics and text for convenience sake. I'm afraid it will all be lost one day so I'm trying to periodically keep things here as well in a more permanent format.
Nehemiah Phoenix Perkins was born on May 21, 2011 at 6:29am. This was a very emotional and trying pregnancy for Lynn as she struggled with severe panic attacks in the final weeks. We had an awesome doula, Suzie Ellis, and midwife, Donna Holmes, who worked with Lynn in figuring out what was causing them. To make a long story short, Lynn had mentally wanted a natural homebirth, but her body and spirit were saying she was tired and really wanted the comfort of being in a hospital in case she couldn't handle transition this time. After letting Lynn know they were fine with her doing it in a hospital, Lynn felt much better and starting letting her guard down about how much 'better or right' a homebirth is. She also had some great hypnotherapy and guidance from our counselor in dealing with her fear of labor this time. Needless to say if you know Lynn, she did great during her roughly 5hr labor and ended up having a natural childbirth in the hospital. God used this time to break down some old emotions and thought/spiritual patterns that weren't serving a useful purpose anymore.

For those who think taxes solve problems
Here's a simple thought experiment for our government:
Reduce income taxes at the margin and you'll get more income because people and companies will be more motivated to produce. A simple thought experiment is to imagine your tax rates for a week's work: 0% on Monday, 25% on Tuesday, 50% on Wednesday, 75% on Thursday and 100% on Friday.
Would you work Friday? Not many would.

CVS Night for Phin
Phin made it 6.5 weeks this time between episodes of his cyclic vomiting syndrome (CVS). This is the longest he has made it since we started this several months ago. He started vomiting at about 3am. Pray that the Phenadoz suppository works at stopping the vomiting so we don't have to go to the ER for IV hydration. This is the ifrst time we are trying Phenergan to stop the vomiting. The Zofran did not work well last time as he takes it orally and it didn't stay down. Zofran works great at the ER where they give it as an IV, but we don't want to go to the ER again!

Phineas on Trampoline
Lynn ran her first 5k at the inaugural Hoofin' It 5K. It was a benefit race for the American Blazer Horse Association. It was perfect as it took place at a horse farm and was very family friendly. Lynn and Igot to run together while Amy Tilton watched the boys. Lynn did well considering it was her first race and she was a bit nervous considering some of the competition consisted of athletes from the University of Idaho's cross country team. The winner kept a 5:30 min/mile pace! After the race Lynn and Amy got to tour the Blazer Horse ranch with the owner.Arlo had never run with horses in an open field before and he got his first painful but valuable lesson. He thought it would be fun to get them going in a stampede and herd them. Well, it was going fine for a while and then he got kicked hard and rolled over. He learned his lesson and stayed out of the field after that. Fortunately he wasn't injured. Some dogs don't survive that first tough lesson. The horse ranch owner was very gracious and understood Arlo needed to learn that lesson and was glad he survived.
